Summer’s come and gone…I missed it. Everyone thinks that if you’re an educator, you get summers off. Not true for me. In fact, it’s one of the busiest times of the year. While there’s not much foot traffic in our advising office, Summer Orientation sessions are happening a couple of days a week and we are trying to catch up on everything that got pushed aside during spring semester.
While I wasn’t able to take vacation time, I was selected to attend a very special Diversity Academy. It challenged me academically, forced me to examine my own beliefs and behaviors, and taught me about areas of diversity other than culture and ethnicity. While I don’t examine things around me microscopically, I am much more aware and that is a good thing.
There was also some knitting. One is still a secret project that hasn’t been published so I can’t show it, right now, but there are others.
These projects were samples for Faina Goberstein, inasilver on Ravelry.
The first were these gloves for Claudia Handpainted Yarns, Crossroads, by Faina.

Their companions are, Roundabout Fingerless Gloves:

The cool thing is CHPY is offering the patterns two for the price of one on Patternfish.
I also made the sample of this beautiful design, Vienna, by Faina for Manos del Uruguay (Fairmont Fibers).

Look, here it is at TNNA!
